Chickpeas with mackerel

Ingredients: Chickpeas, smoked mackerel, dry onion, olive oil, lemon juice, Kombu seaweed, marjoram, salt, pepper.

This simple delitas recipe is based on chickpeas, the nutritious and tasty legumes that are an excellent source of protein, fiber, calcium, iron and folic acid. The coarsely ground chickpeas receive the rich flavor of the virgin olive oil and the refreshing lemon juice. Besides its great taste, lemon also offers valuable energy, because it releases the iron from the chickpeas and helps in its absorption.

Smoked mackerel, with its strong flavor, balances the taste of the chickpeas, while the extra flavors are brought out by the marjoram and the Kombu seaweed. Kombu, which is the king of algae, apart from its great nutritional value, gives this delight a special depth and delicacy.
